Reading Rocks! Virtual Stories & Learning Delta Kids Will Love
12/15/2020 (Permalink)
Your Kids Don’t Need to Leave Their Delta Home to Explore Nature
Each week the Garden of the Gods website offers online programs. Reading Rocks explores the world of nature from children’s books. A storyteller reads a book and also leads in a craft or activity that goes along with the book. Kids can then share their completed projects on Facebook or Instagram. There are three different stories to choose from so far. They include:
- How to Catch a Dinosaur – Dino Tracks Craft
- Imagination Vacation Colorado – Rock Layer Exploration
- Who Pooped on the Colorado Plateau? – Animal Matching Activity
If your kids love books and love nature, it is a perfect match. It is a fun way to throw some science into their day as well. Use these books and activities as a springboard for your own adventures. While you are on the Garden of the Gods website, check out their other online events as well. Their Rock On! Geology of the Garden of Gods is very interesting.
